Join us for this special concert celebrating the power of voice & song as London's alternative male voice chorus - Chaps Choir - makes its way down to West Sussex for a weekend of performances.*
Local musician & singer Anna Tabbush will open the evening with a set of her inimitable heartfelt songs.
Chaps Choir
Chaps Choir is a large male singing gang from London; say goodbye to the male voice choir most would recognise. The group has been sharing its joy-inducing, heart-string pulling repertoire to audiences since 2013. Prepare for pop re-hashes, snowy hunting calls, self-aware pirates and, well, lots of men singing.
Their voices have filled the Royal Festival Hall, The Union Chapel & other major London venues. Featured at Wilderness & Port Eliot festivals the choir has slowly built a name through its urbane entertaining presentation and unexpected repertoire choices. They’ve performed live on Saturday night prime time TV, recorded at Abbey Road and been the subject of articles, news pieces & podcasts exploring men’s singing & male community. Their voices & recordings have featured on 6Music & BBC Radio 4
Collaborations with artists & organisations include: Omar, Joe Stilgoe, Samantha Whates, The Spooky Men’s Chorale, CALM & The Choir With No Name. The choir has released a full length live album as well as numerous singles and video projects over the years, aiding its mission to bring the metropolitan singing chap into the choral melee. They envision a world where all chaps can find their singing voice.
Dom Stichbury, the founder & leader of the choir, recently moved to Midhurst and therefore the time is nigh for him to bring his fellow chaps down to his new home for a sing.
*On March 29th, Chaps Choir will also be appearing at St John's Chapel, Chichester for a lunchtime show at 13.00. Tickets are available here:

Anna Tabbush
Composer, choir conductor, singer and multi-instrumentalist, Anna Tabbush is well known for her heartfelt, socially conscious songwriting, alongside her extensive experience as a community choir leader and workshop facilitator. Her song Harbour, which she wrote in 2020 in support of refugees fleeing the war in Syria, has been sung by choirs around the world.
Anna grew up in a musical household playing in her family ceilidh band from the age of 15. She studied Music & Technology at Kingston University where she set up her first community choir.
Having showed a love of music at an early age, Anna wrote her first melody when she was 8 years old and found composition to be a kind of therapy - a way of expressing thoughts and feelings in a way that words couldn’t. She is a prolific composer having written and arranged hundreds of songs, tunes, choral pieces and instrumental works.
